セントロエスカラー大学は1907年に設立された無宗教背景の私立大学です。現在セントロエスカラー大学は４つのキャンパスを有しており、3つのキャンパスがマニラに位置しています。さらにこのセントロエスカラー大学はバギオやダバオにもキャンパスを増やそうとしていて、現在も革新は続いています。


セントロエスカラー大学は科学、人文、医薬、商学部などを有する規模の大きな総合的な大学で、更に独自に歯学部や薬剤学部などの学部も設置しています。特にセントロエスカラー大学の歯学部はフィリピンの中でも最もレベルの高い教育機構を有しており、その卒業資格は欧米圏でも広く認可されています。さらにセントロエスカラー大学はフィリピンの高等教育委員会から完全独立自主権を与えられフィリピン国内で独自の地位を築いています。 ?
キャンパスの内部は20もの建物から成っており、毎年20,000名もの学生を受け入れることができます。1925年に医歯学部が誕生して以来、優秀な医師を多く排出することで国内外の評価を得てきました。今ではマニラで8番目に大きなキャンパスを誇る大学となりました。
